The Role
As our Security Engineer, you’ll work at the intersection of Cloud Security, traditional IT Infrastructure Security (incl. host/endpoint security, network security, container security), Security Monitoring, and Security Automation. Working closely with our Head of IT Security, our Security Analysts and IT security service providers, you’ll be responsible for the continuous and systematic delivery of improvements to corporate IT systems and environment, IT Security routine automation, and continuous IT Infrastructure (incl. PaaS and SaaS level) assessment and support. You’ll get the chance to use your knowledge and previous experience to solve problems, deliver continuous improvement while building out your understanding of new technologies and domains in the field.
Your days will include:
- Hardening of hosts and endpoint
- Continuously assess and improve company IT surface
- Developing and improving on Cloud security policies (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
- Building a centralised, transparent, manageable, and reliable security system from separate tools and solutions
- Developing and communicating IT Security requirements to technical teams
- Ensuring the sufficiency of and participation in Security Monitoring coverage development
- Security Automation and internal tools development
Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of focused experience in defensive Cyber Security with 5+ years in IT and/or Information Security
- Previous experience with security monitoring (incl. events delivery, detection, response, analysis stages)
- Strong understanding of modern Windows and/or *nix OS families
- Understanding of attackers’ techniques and ways in which systems are compromised
- Intermediate knowledge of cloud security concepts and providers (AWS, GCP, Aliyun, Tencent)
- Understanding of containers, serverless, and k8s security basics
- The ability to code in Python or Go for automation purposes with actual experience with bash and/or PowerShell
- Experience or commitment to learning how to deliver code to production (for own automation purposes)
- The ability and readiness to analyse systems and processes in depth
