Job Description
The purpose of this job is to coordinate, integrate and manage all activities, resources, systems and projects during the lifecycle of long term on-going programs in order to deliver products and/or services that meet a customer’s specifications for scope, cost, deadlines, quality.
Monitor, control and validate the Civil Work on site (Civil Engineering, Structural work, finishing etc) and ensure the supervision of the integration of the customer’s system within the project.
This position is also including coordinating role between the company, the customer and the various subcontractors working on site. Site Engineer is considered as the main interface between various parts of the project.
It is expected that Site Engineer proposes technical solutions and overseas operations on a day-to-day basis, ensures that the work is done in safely manner, on time, within budget and to the right quality standards.
Site Engineer supervises the work of all teams involved on site.
Site Engineer participates directly in the work.
SPECIFIC KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES
- Prepare detailed installation plan and schedule. Organize installation team and assign roles, responsibilities, objectives and deliverables. Ensure the availability of necessary tools and means for proper progress of the installation on site.
- Check, review and validate the implementation drawings and mounting instructions. Submit updated installation procedures when required.
- Monitor the civil work progress, advice and support a client and/or the subcontractors when needed.
- Effectively manage the installation phase by directing and coordinating the activities and resources, setting priorities in respect of the project schedule, scope, budget and quality constraints. Oversee contracted staff working on site (technicians, electricians, surveyors, field service engineers etc).
- Realize site survey and advice for the most suitable implementation and process flow, taking into consideration site and customer’s constraints.
- Support the Procurement activity for local sourcing (civil work, local manpower, handling tools etc).
- Support the client to coordinate locally and oversee shipping, customs clearance, in-country movement.
- Prepare all necessary permits for the projects i.e. site access, the safety & health plans, etc. Manage and support the client resources from arrival in country to departure, including arranging all logistics from lodging and transportation.
- Check and validate the client’s team and the subcontractors’ work. Ensure that all required security and quality control have passed successfully.
- Lead coordination meetings on site on a weekly basis (with all contractors on site).
- Coordinate the expert support when required.
- Prepare and participate to the on-site acceptance tests.
- organize meeting with subcontractors, maintaining good relationships within all the teams and with the client.
- Make safety inspections and ensuring construction and site safety.
- Prepare and submit the site reports on daily and weekly basis.
- Maintain the quality control procedures and track the quality issues on site (issue description, solution applied, cost, time and recommendation, if any, for future programs).
- Ensuring that technical instructions and procedures are followed.
- Ensuring that all safety rules defined by the customer are respected and applied on site by all workers.
- Update Project management procedure of the company.
- Support the Company with administrative and operational issues when not on site to develop the activity
- Track the lessons learned.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSABILITIES (not limited to):
- Responsible for the installation phase from preparation to closure phase (equipment installed, SAT passed, pending issues released or responsibility transferred to the client, lessons learned done).
- Responsible for the safety and radioprotection rules application on site, in compliance with customer’s standard, if defined.
- Represent the Client and the Company in the customer relationship on site and promote the Company’s standards and work.
- Effectively report to the Client the status of the installation. Conduct continuous analysis, mitigation, and escalation of risks to project schedule and budget and write the weekly installation progress reports.
- Ensure compliance with the Company’s standards.
- Ensure compliance with Local rules, Company’s and Client’s policies for health, environment and safety.
- Being Company’s representative on site and within the project, Site Engineer os expected to promote Company on site during installation, look for new opportunity as well as further development of relationships with the client and contractors working on the site, being involved in further development of the Company.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Technical / Engineering degree is required (Preferably Mechanical or Civil Work).
- Experience in site management and special machine installation.
- 2 years of similar experience is required.
- Strong knowledge in mechanics, electricity, automatism and Civil work.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software including: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
- Know-how in controls and IT solution.
- Good level of English is mandatory.
- Good communicator, with ability to interface client and contractors.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle stressful situations or to work under pressure.
- Ability to travel, overtime and work hours other than Monday-Friday, when required.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and accountable individual.
- Ability to manage risk, priority, and deadlines.
- Ability to manage multicultural workers in different countries, with different skills.
- Ability to manage cross-functional teams in a matrix environment and influence people outside of direct reporting relationships.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- The site Engineer task is > 80% on site.
- Long period travel to be expected > 80% abroad.
- Home based or at the Company Office when not on site.
