I was checking people’s passports and visas who were entering to TRNC(Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus). I was deciding whether the visitors metthe criteria to enter the island or not according to the given rules by thegovernment.My responsibilities were observing passengers passing through control areas,examining passports, conducting interviews, and organizing the removal ofpassengers who failed to qualify for the entry to TRNC.

My role was dealing with customers who were embarking on their journey. My main responsibilities were checking passengers in, weighing, and checking in their luggage, issuing border passes and luggage label, allocating seat numbers, asking security questions, and answering passengers’ inquiries prior to their flight.

During the day, I was at the emergency room, monitoring the security camerasand answering the phones from other troops. I was a watchman some of thenights, and my duty was changing the soldiers who were on duty. I let themhave some rest and sent the others to continue doing their duty as a watchmanafterwards. In addition to that,I was patrolling to the regiment.
